Q1 Noka Minshuku is an accommodation run by a local famer and visitors stay at their private house.

It is a great way to experience life in a countryside village and have friendly exchanges with the locals. It will also be an extraordinary experience to have a mutual understanding with the farmers while enjoying relaxing moments.

Q1 How can I stay at or join activities at a Noka Minshuku?

By phone, tell them: 1) name of the representative person, 2) address, 3) telephone number, 4) number of guests, 5) name of the activity, 6) intended date to visit, 7) how you plan to get there (by private car or public transportation).

It is recommended to tell the Noka Minshuku how you plan to reach the location since many of the activities require meeting and completion times at the venue.
Q1 How can I pay?
Q1 In principle, payment for the accommodation and activities are made by cash on the day at the venue. Please contact the accommodation in advance to enquire if they accept payment by credit card.
Q1 From what age is the child rate applied?

Basically, the child rate will be applied when children younger than elementary school age stay the accommodation, have meals or join activities. Generally, fees will be applied for children over 3 years old. The full rate will be applied for junior high school students (older than 12 years old).
Q1 What kinds of amenities are provided?

However, bath and toilet articles, pajamas, towels and all other items must be prepared by the guest at most places.

Some accommodations permit guests to stay with animals only when the guest come in their own private car and agree to have the pet sleep in the car. Please make sure to contact the accommodation in advance and ask if you can bring your pet along with you regardless of whether it stays inside or outside the house.
Q1 Can a physically handicapped person join in activities?
Q1 Basically, anyone can join activities and projects; however, there are almost no barrier-free facilities in the outside areas such as in the mountains and by rivers. It is recommended to contact the accommodation in advance and ask for details.
